Mushrooms of Forest Park

Project Description: I identified locations within Forest Park with a higher likelihood of mushrooms occurring. I used a false color image to distinguish conifers from deciduous trees. Then I used supervised classification to separate the two tree types. Next, I used bare earth returns from LiDAR data to determine the elevations of the selected area in Forest Park. For this project, I worked under the parameters that mushrooms are likely to grow near conifers and between 825 to 857 feet. The orange polygons in my final map show the places in Forest Park that meet that criteria.
